Clients often remark that one of the reasons they use recruitment agencies is because they expect us to have a number of quality candidates ‘on our books’. This is often the case but simply because we have many candidates on our database does not mean that these candidates are the best available for the client’s needs.
After taking a verbal written brief, we search our database for suitable prospects, then approach and attempt to generate interest in a new position. This step is always the first stage in each of our recruitment services, the difference being that unlike other services this approach may not require the client’s commitment to completing the assignment. Often the best candidates are not in the job market and therefore they need to be encouraged to consider alternative opportunities by creative advertising or direct approaches. If the need for a high quality person is urgent, then contingent or database referrals are the most appropriate recruitment options.
